The Five Stages of G:TGC Watching For Long-time Gargoyles Fans:
by Constance "Eilonwy" Cochran eilonwy@earthlink.net
- Eager anticipation. "New episode! New episode!"
>
- Cautious admiration..."Well, that opening scene wasn't *awful*...could be better..."
- Manifests itself in one of three ways:
- a) grudging acceptance (see The Dying of The Light). "Well, that was actually pretty
good...very touching...animation not bad, writing okay!" or
- b) horrible sinking feeling. "Stock footage! Ew...can't they even _stay in the lines_?! Oh
puhlease, not another iris-out-on-everyone-laughing. 'EGON PAX! EGON PAX!'
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! *fan runs out sobbing* resulting ultimately in
- c) Martyred resignation. "Oh well, that's just typical. Every time there's a decent
show, they ruin it. Just look at 'Forever Knight.'
- Wild, desperate hope/living in a state of denial. "What? You heard they're _re-
doing_ the third season? Anyone know if Greg Weissman's going to be re-hired?"
- Fan fiction. Continue to write overly dramatic fan-fiction in an attempt to keep the
original spirit of the series alive. Make Puck appear as often as possible.
