Although the polls have been closed, look below to see what other fans thought about the apocrypha of "Gargoyles."
Suprisingly, despite negative fan feedback, the majority of those who answered thought Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles should indeed be considered part of the canon (not the opinion of this editor). And even more felt it should not be ignored or neglected (an opinion this editor shares).
Perhaps not suprisingly, as of March 5, 1997, the episodes favored most by respondents to the poll were "Angels In The Night," the fairly decent series finale (although nothing close to the grandeur of Hunter's Moon); Seeing Isn't Believing; and The Journey. These three episodes also happen to be the ones with the most Disney or "classic" Gargoyles mark on them. For Seeing and Angels, Nelvana subcontracted a Disney Television Animation overseas studio, WD Australia and WD Japan (who did much of 1st and 2nd season), respectively. This was something Nelvana did not do on the other eps, to the best of the editor's knowledge. The Journey, the ep with the most votes (9), was written by the original series creator and editor, Greg Weisman.
In a recent visit to the Station 8 chat room, Greg Weisman told us that in The Journey, Vinnie was, in a certain sense, himself, bidding good-bye to Gargoyles: "Just substitute Dreamworks for Japan." Although the animation in that one was lacking, in many ways The Journey still held some of the old spirit, and, in the words of Merlin Missy's filk song, "The Day The Gargoyles Died," it "left with all the show's old focus."

What is the best episode of G:TGC? Why, IYHO (in your humble opinion) is the episode you selected the finest effort of G:TGC?
Angels In The Night

The Gargoyles are finally noticed and reconized for what they are
I loved the comment at the end. /but it was the last!!!!!!WaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The quality of the artwork was superb, reminiscent of the first two seasons. For the first time, all the characters looked the way they were supposed to. Also, it had a good plotline and smooth animation.
I believed that this was the best episode because of the graphics and the plain fact that the clan was finally accepted into society or at the very least beginning to be accepted. Still the last bit of philosiphing by Goliath was real stupid. They just took a few lines from the second season narraration and fit sruck it together with gum and scotch tape. Like I have said from the eginning, the thing that the third season was missing was continuity, quality animation, sound FX and basically stories that lacked the detail and feeling that the stories from the first two seasons had.
It shows emotion, suspense, and many of the other good elements. It is in short, a good season finale for TGC.
I can't discribe why, but I loved it.
Seeing Isn't Believing
Because I like the eps. about Elisa and Goliath's friendship or more. --heather haskett
It was one of the few eps that had some feel of continuity with the syndicated show and it had that great hug at the end! --Kathy
The best animation and story line. Angels in the night had ok animation....but it wasn't as fun to watch as Seeing....
Seeing Isn't Believing. The animation's great, I LOOOVE Taurus, references back to the classic gargoyles show, great story!!!
Seeing Isn't Believing. (1 vote, no comment)
The Journey
I liked the journey because Elisa wore something Different.(Yeah!!!!!!!!) And she was starting to kick the Quarryman's butts, (at her apartment)even though she was wearing a dress. GO ELISA!!!!!!!! (Hey, I'm an Elisa fan, and well Goliath, Brook, and angela too)
The Journey. Emmett Short, Jr. (has 4 more additional votes without comments)
The Journey. It kept the some of the subtlety of the last two seasons. For example, Elisa's little comment about having the night off.
The Journey. First I need to say that I haven't seen all the aired shows yet. My affiliate(sp?) didn't start airing it regularly until mid-November. Now, why The Journey? Probably because of Goliath and Elisa. I love these two and so far this is the only ep that has had them as 'them'. The introduction of the Quarrymen was good, too, and I even kinda liked Vinnie in this one. And I love that quote at the end, even used it in one of my papers last semester. I'll probably think of a million more reasons later tonight for why I picked this one over ones like Generations and For It May Come True, but for now this is it. The Journey is just one of those episodes I find easy to watch over and over again. --Brandy H
The Journey. It's the closest to the feel of the original
series, complete with gradual developments such as Lexington and
Fox cautiously extending peace feelers towards each other, the
Runaways
Runaways. I believe this is the best episode because
Brooklyn learns that running away from home won't
solve all his problems. It also continues to show
him as a developing character. --F.O. Liddell (no e-mail address)
Runaways. Hey, Brooklyn is the best. --Gary Salter
My favorite Goliath Chronicles is RUNAWAYS. Why? - It centers
around Brook!! At the end, he realizes how special he really is
(to me expecially). Now here is a riddle to quess if you can.....
who is my favorite character?
-Katie (AKA: Brooklyn-lover)
THE BEST EPISODE IS THE ONE WHERE BROOKLYN HELPS THOSE HOMELESS KIDS! [Runaways]
--YOUR FRIENDFLIGHT3
The Dying of The Light
It captured the feel of the best episodes of the first two seasons. Good characterization, and it showed not all New Yorkers hated our heros
The Dying of The Light. It's the only one of the three episodes I've seen so far that doesn't get overly preachy about prejudice, racism,
etc. (2 additional votes, no comment)
The Dying of The Light. It had a good plot. while it wasn't an amazin revelation in Gargoyles it felt like the old show. It had good dialogue and good character developement much like the old show. --Richard McCracken
The Dying Of The Light. I really don't know why. It's just the best of
the list! --Mark Hahn weasel@kirk.anderson.edu
A Bronx Tale
Most like the old garg's.
A Bronx Tale. Because it showed how much bronx can be a main
of the cast as any other, bronx may not say
anything but he is just as much a main character
as any other character in the episode. and it also
showed that violance will not solve all problems
some take time and love. --AB Bucy ABBucy@aol.com
For the Goliath Cronicles: was the episode A Bronx
Tale --Shannon Hearn
Generations
(1 vote, no comment)
Because that is the only one that fully continued a story from the original gargoyles
Generations. I didn't see Generations but I love Demona and she
isn't on enough anymore as far as I'm concerned. Why is it called
G:TGC now instead of just Gargoyles? For It May Come True
Because in a way this is what Goliath wants,to be with Elisa.Though it's not quite how he wanted it to be.
For It May Come True (no comments)
For It May Come True. I just happened to think that it was the best and cutest of all the others.
For It May Come True. Although it was really a
bad ep, it tried to explore the Goliath/Elisa
relationship (albeit slightly). --DumlaoX
For It May Come True. Well, to tell you the truth, I don't get the chance to watch the show that often. I go to college and miss the episodes quite a bit. For it may, was one of the few episodes I did gett to watch, and I liked it a lot. Still, nothing compares to the origional pilot episode.

Genesis Undone. Because they presented that every life are precious, just like every living thing. --Benoît Provencher
I liked "Justice 4 all"...because Goliath's moral struggle at his
situation (being in jail) kind of reminded me of Nick Knight's.

(editor's note: The series is called Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles
instead of just Gargoyles because of the copyright issue. You can't have
two different series with the same name. It is animated by Nelvana, not Disney
Television Animation, as the original series was).
