In the land of shadow and despair,
Where man and gargoyles' lives end without care,
The only light seen by the humans of the alleys and darkness
Is the moon in all her radiance and splendor,
She protects the ones of claw and wing by giving them life
Which the sun steals away from them.
But their light is all it's on, growing within them,
When their emotions have filled them,
The light shows through their eyes,
And it explodes into an outburst of energy,
The light that comes from all their
Hearts shines upon all their friends.
And so while they fly and fight for goodness,
The light within them gives them a brighter night,
Than any from the world of day,
And for those alone in the streets,
Those who they protect, All
See that glow in them, And it glows onto
All friends in friendship,
All foes in courage and strength.
That is their light....
The light that guides them,
And protects them, As the moon does,
But the moon in her vanity
Does not bask in the glow
Of hope, triumph, pain,
That all the gargoyles feel,
And all of the daylight, in jealousy reel.
